A Place Far From Home
“Goodbye” said the five girls as they huddle in a group hug; “See you in Cali.” Amalia said as she waves while entering her car. Because of the lack of space in the car she was forced to take this road trip alone. She was a little nervous at first, but she was the type of person that was always smiling and being positive about everything. Before beginning her long journey she whispered a prayer asking God to protect her on this trip.
The plan was she would drive for five hours non-stop then would stop at a rest stop to spend the night. She took out her phone using google map putting in her Aunt's address since she would pass Colorado before she reaches California. A few hours driving on the road Amalia began to not only enjoy the scenery but her own company. All of a sudden Amalia GPS stopped working. She pulled over to try to solve the problem. She tried putting her phone high checking if it lost signal ,but no matter what she did the phone wouldn’t work. Out of frustration she slams the phone on the asphalt road making the phone split in two. She instantly regrets her decision. She began tearing up overwhelmed with the pain she was feeling, she started to say motivating words to comfort herself.
She finally got the courage to continue her journey but she decided to turn around and find her way back home. But she didn't know how far she would get since her gas was running low and the sky was getting dark. But she still continues singing her favorite song, wanting to feel better about the whole situation. As she drives for how long her gas takes her, which led her on a long stretch of road with no cars around. She planned to sleep in her car and hopefully in the morning she would find a gas station and find her way back home. She Stayed up watching this dark owl with big dark black eyes in the treetop. Amalia falls asleep without realizing, she wakes up when she hears a knock at the window with this tall, skinny guy dressed in a black pants and a white t-shirt and brown eyes staring at her.
She was so excited to see someone out there being 19 and so innocent thinking that he could help her. She quickly opened the door as she stood outside seeing his 2008 Red Sedan. She looked away from his car and she saw the guy with the most evil grin ever. She attempted to talk to him but he started walking back to his car. It was so late at night, she couldn't see what he was doing. As she tries to step back in her car she feels someone grabbing her hands looking down she screams after seeing a gun in his hand.
She ran as fast as she could screaming on top of her lungs even though deep down she knew no one would hear her cries. “Boom!” The gunshot echoed behind her as she ran faster and screamed louder. “Boom!” Another gunshot caught her in the ankle slowing her down, he moved closer to her shooting her in her back twice causing her body to fall to the ground. As she bleeds out to death. He looks around checking if he leaves any trace, he then looks up at this big large tree looking eye to eye with the Owl. He then shoots the owl in his right eye which causes the owl's right eye to bleed forming a red circle around its eyes. The killer takes off in his Red Sudan. He never once looked back at Amalia or any of the destruction he created, he just speeds off looking for his next victim.
